Yacht Hire for Film, Fashion & Media Shoots

A yacht can provide a distinctive setting for film, fashion and media production, but the working brief comes first. Crew numbers, equipment, power, permissions, timings and protection of the vessel all need written agreement.

A distinctive location, on the water.

Share the treatment, crew size, equipment needs and intended dates. Vessel suitability, filming permissions and operating conditions need to be reviewed before a shoot is confirmed.

The decisions behind the experience.

A yacht can provide a distinctive setting for film, fashion and media production, but the working brief comes first. Crew numbers, equipment, power, permissions, timings and protection of the vessel all need written agreement.

Production brief and equipment

Production aboard requires a working plan as well as a creative one. Match the crew, equipment and shot list to the yacht, operating area and time available.

Crew and equipment

List headcount, cases, power draw, sound needs, rigging, protective materials and the space needed to work without obstructing safe operation.

Permissions and schedule

Confirm location permissions, supplier access, setup and removal time, weather cover and the decision process if conditions interrupt the shoot.

Location permissions

Conditions can change the safe or permitted version of the plan. Agree how the operator communicates changes, what alternatives may be offered and which cancellation terms apply before committing.

Captain and operator decisions

The final route, access and operating decision rests with the responsible operator and captain. A requested stop or view is not a guarantee.

A workable alternative

Ask what happens if wind, sea state, local restrictions or event controls affect the original plan, including how timing or cancellation is handled.

Filming logistics

A shoot aboard runs to the yacht’s operating plan as well as the call sheet. Agree timings, positions and how the crew moves around the vessel before the day.

Call times and positioning

Share the schedule, the locations you hope to film and when the yacht needs to be underway or at anchor, so the operator can confirm what is practical.

Working safely aboard

Agree where equipment is stored, which areas are off limits and how the crew follows the captain’s instructions while the yacht is moving.

Begin with your brief. We will shape the rest.
